Kinzan, who was also known as Shigeharu, published a woodblock-printed book entitled Kachō Gashū (i.e., Collection of Pictures of Flowers and Birds) in 1905. It included more than fifty pictures of plants, birds, insects and mammals. The twenty-three pictures that featured both flowers and birds are shown in this gallery. Click on a picture to enlarge it. Kinzan’s naturalistic style is typical of that used by artists who designed flower-and-bird prints in the early 1900s. To see all the flower-bird pictures in this book click here.
